According to a statement from the organization delivered to Prensa Latina, President Donald Trump’s policies aim at imposing a colonization project on Latin America and the Caribbean in order to seize its natural resources.

This was shown, the statement emphasizes, by the armed aggression against Venezuela, which has caused at least 80 deaths, including 32 Cuban internationalist combatants.

The statements point out that the rhetoric about the existence of a drug-trafficking dictatorship was a smokescreen; the real goal was controling the oil and other natural resources of the sister nation. To achieve this, they resorted to kidnapping President Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

According to FAD, in his warmongering policies, the Republican magnate is threatening Colombia, Mexico, Greenland, Canada, Iraq, and other nations around the world.

Faced with this evidence of interference, FAD emphasizes that Panamanians demand that the President of the Republic, Jose Raul Mulino, account to the nation for the true scope of the memorandum of understanding with Washington and his commitment to the U.S. government regarding the Canal.

Within the framework of international law respecting the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples, and as promoters of peace and dialogue, we demand an end to U.S. interventionism in Venezuela and the immediate release of the President and his wife, the statement concludes.
