A military source cited by Ikhbariya TV confirmed that the Army units launched attacks on drone-launching sites belonging to the SDF near Deir Hafer, east of Aleppo province, after locating such positions.

The Syrian Defense Ministry informed on Monday evening that six soldiers and civilians were injured in a drone attack conducted by the SDF, in what it described as a new escalation, despite the militia’s claims of ongoing negotiations with the Government.

The military institution clarified that the Syrian Army’s response will be “limited,” without offering further details.

The Foreign Ministry expressed in late December its rejection of the decentralization proposal presented by the SDF, warning that the initiative threatens the unity of the State and contributes to the consolidation of de facto entities in northeastern Syria.

The SDF, with US support, controls approximately 25 percent of Syrian territory, primarily in the northeastern provinces of Hasakah, Raqqa, and Deir Ezzor.
