The Cuban government declared two days of mourning, January fifth and sixth, in tribute to whom “honorably fulfilled their duty and fell, after fierce resistance, in direct combat against the attackers or as a result of the bombing of the facilities.”
The Cuban combatants, who were carrying out missions representing the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, at the request of their counterparts in that country, “exalted, through their heroic actions, the solidarity of millions of compatriots,” the declaration states.

Beijing, 6 ene (Prensa Latina) Los miembros de la misión estatal de Cuba en China rindieron tributo hoy a los 32 combatientes de la isla que perdieron la vida el 3 de enero durante el ataque militar de Estados Unidos contra Venezuela.
Durante el homenaje en la sede diplomática de Cuba aquí se resaltó la valentía y dignidad de estos héroes y se reafirmó la solidaridad con el país sudamericano frente a la agresión militar de Washington y el secuestro del presidente Nicolás Maduro y su esposa.
Previamente la República Bolivariana de Venezuela rindió homenaje a los 32 combatientes cubanos caídos en su territorio durante “el ataque criminal e infame perpetrado por el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos”, según un comunicado oficial.
Numerosas representaciones de Cuba alrededor del mundo rindieron tributo a estos mártires internacionalistas.
El gobierno de Cuba declaró dos días de duelo, desde las 06:00 hora local del 5 de enero hasta las 12:00 del día 6 de enero de 2026, para rendir tributo a quienes “cumplieron dignamente con su deber y cayeron, tras férrea resistencia, en combate directo contra los atacantes o como resultado de los bombardeos a las instalaciones”.
Los combatientes cubanos, quienes cumplían misiones en representación de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias y el Ministerio del Interior, a solicitud de órganos homólogos de ese país, “supieron poner en alto, con su actuación heroica, el sentir solidario de millones de compatriotas” expresa la declaración.
