During his New Year’s address, he noted that in 2025 China overcame difficulties and achieved its major development goals.

The president emphasized that innovation propelled high-quality development, with advances in artificial intelligence, domestically produced chips, space exploration, energy infrastructure, and military equipment.
He highlighted the steady progress in environmental protection and social welfare, noting improved job security, support for families with children, and enhanced services for the elderly.
Xi recalled the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War as a significant event of the year.
On foreign policy, he affirmed China’s open stance, mentioning the Global Governance Initiative he proposed at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin and underscoring national commitments to address climate change.
