For months, ANDIS has been at the center of a corruption scandal involving Javier Milei’s own sister.
On Tuesday, in a new step toward dismantling the state, far-right President Javier Milei dissolved the Argentina’s National Disability Agency (ANDIS).

The move was confirmed by Cabinet Chief Manuel Adorni, who said ANDIS will be absorbed by the Health Ministry, arguing that the Milei administration is seeking to “make public management more transparent” and eliminate “useless structures.”
This decision comes amid extreme tension following months of systematic budget cuts that have directly affected one of the most vulnerable sectors of Argentine society.
ANDIS has been at the center of a corruption scandal that shook the Milei administration after the release of audio recordings attributed to former ANDIS director Diego Spagnuolo.

The text reads, “This is Karina Milei, who a year ago earned a living selling cakes online. Today she lives like a millionaire thanks to bribes she receives from selling medications for the disabled. There is no sector more wretched and corrupt than the right wing.”
The recordings reveal a bribery scheme involving payments for the purchase of high-cost medications, in which official Eduardo Menem and Karina Milei — the secretary general of Argentina’s presidency — are said to be implicated.
The leaked information indicates that ANDIS was used as a source of illegal funds linked to lobbyists and pharmaceutical companies operating under the protection of senior government officials, according to investigations underway in the Comodoro Py federal courts.
The judicial case gained momentum following raids on former officials of the Economy Ministry, where large, unjustified sums of money were seized.

The text reads, “The government announced the dissolution of ANDIS. They came in, stole absolutely everything from the disabled, the truth came out, and now they’re shutting it down so they can continue stealing from elsewhere. This is libertarianism at its finest. Karina Milei must go to jail.”
Intercepted conversations cited by prosecutors show the casual manner in which public funds were handled, including promises to purchase luxury goods among those involved if deals with ANDIS health care providers were successfully completed.
At the time of its dissolution, the National Disability Agency reported directly to Karina Milei, the Secretary General of the Presidency.
While the Milei administration insists that social benefits will not be cut, uncertainty prevails among affected families, who see the Argentine state retreating from its basic functions amid corruption cases that reach the highest levels of the far-right administration.
