The president highlighted this on the social media platform X, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the institution, founded by the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.
“With Fidel’s inspiration and founding ideas, ICAP continues to have, and today more than ever, the valuable task of uniting peoples and supporting the noblest causes of humanity,” Díaz-Canel wrote.
He added that the celebration had “special significance” at the institution’s headquarters, where “the commitment to peace, friendship, and solidarity among nations has marked every step” during its 65 years of work.
For his part, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez congratulated ICAP and its staff on the anniversary.
Rodriguez acknowledged on the digital platform their “effective and arduous work in promoting solidarity, friendship, and the defense of Cuba against imperialist aggression and in supporting just causes.”
At the main event held the previous day, ICAP President Fernando Gonzalez described the institution “as a bastion of ideas, a workshop of friendship, and a strategic element in the defense of the Revolution.”
