“Military units of the Zapad group are actively advancing in the city of Krasni Liman,” he said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russian authorities also reported that earlier Monday they had completed the liberation of the towns of Bohuslavka and Dibrova, near Krasni Liman, one of the most important railway hubs in the Donbas region.
The liberation of these towns improves the position of Russian troops, which continue to move closer to the Ukrainian stronghold of Sloviansk, a city that was the scene of some of the first fighting in eastern Ukraine in 2014. In this way, Russia continues its efforts to fully liberate the Donetsk region.

On Monday, Putin held his second meeting with Russia’s top military leadership in the past two days. At the previous meeting held on Saturday, the chief of the General Staff informed him about the liberation of the town of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region and the city of Mirnohrad in Donetsk.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and territories currently controlled by Russia remain unresolved points in the peace plan discussed with U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday.
“They are two issues that were left unresolved in the 20-point document. That’s why I said the plan is 90% ready, because there is no agreement on two points,” he said, referring to his meeting with Trump in Florida.
On Sunday, Zelenskiy and Trump projected a message of progress toward peace, although they did not finalize an agreement and did not resolve the remaining “thorny issues.”
