Approximately 200,000 prefabricated housing units are required in the Gaza Strip to meet the most urgent needs of displaced families and provide them with safe shelter from harsh weather conditions, the Gaza Government Operations Room stated on Sunday.
Consequently, a strong appeal has been made to the United Nations and the international community, demanding that Tel Aviv’s regime allow the entry of the necessary humanitarian aid.

This demand follows a recent storm that flooded and destroyed thousands of tents across the territory, where the natural disaster has further deepened the already critical humanitarian emergency faced by the population because of the Israeli genocidal campaign.
The impact was particularly devastating along the coastal Al-Rasheed Street, a roughly 26-kilometer stretch where the sea surge severely damaged the precarious camps established along its edges.
The powerful waves associated with the storm swept away the fragile shelters, leaving Palestinians exposed to the elements.
Months of war and displacement forced people in #Gaza to live amid collapsing ruins in makeshift shelters or in flimsy tents.
While Storm Byron that struck Gaza from December 10 was a natural hazard, its consequences are man-made.

Amid the complete devastation of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, which was thriving two years ago due to intense bombardment, and while Zionist troops continue their direct attacks against the unarmed population, Israeli border authorities are failing to comply with ceasefire agreement.
The statement added that the response capacity of aid agencies is severely compromised. The combination of a severe shortage of materials and ongoing Israeli restrictions on the entry of assistance makes it impossible to meet the demands of the displaced population.
