The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated the birth of Mao Zedong. Through his official platforms, the Venezuelan leader described the founder of the People’s Republic of China as one of the “giants of the 20th century.” Maduro emphasized that Mao’s ability to organize an army based on workers and peasants was the decisive key to defeating the imperial structures that subjugated the Asian nation.
During his address, the Bolivarian leader highlighted one of the fundamental premises of Maoist thought: the distinction between the human factor and technological weaponry in social conflicts. “Weapons are important, but the decisive factor is the man,” Maduro recalled, citing the strategic vision that enabled the liberation of the Chinese people.

In the video shared by the head of state, he analyzed how China transitioned from a semi-feudal system to a cutting-edge model in just a few decades. Maduro pointed out that the construction of this unique project allowed for an unprecedented expansion of productive forces, achieving a cultural and commercial development that now places it at the forefront of the international stage. This process of radical transformation is seen by the Venezuelan government as an example of resilience and administrative efficiency under socialist principles.
Furthermore, the president emphasized the spiritual and political connection that unites the historical figures of both nations. In his remarks, he affirmed that the values of Mao Zedong and Xi Jinping converge with the ideals of Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez in the pursuit of a multipolar world. “We are united in soul and spirit,” Maduro asserted, reinforcing the strategic alliance that Caracas and Beijing currently maintain based on principles of mutual respect and bilateral cooperation.
