Following the initiative of the Movement of Excluded Workers of Argentina (MTE), other organizations organized Christmas dinners for people experiencing homelessness and those in vulnerable situations.

In this vein, the Classist and Combative Current (CCC) organized a celebration for Thursday, December 25, starting at 12:00 PM local time, for families in La Plata who lack food on their tables.

Meanwhile, other solidarity Christmas dinners took place in the City of Buenos Aires, such as at the San Cayetano Sanctuary in the Liniers neighborhood. During the invitation to one of the gatherings on Wednesday, they stated, “We hope to see you on December 24 so that Christmas finds us united, in peace, and with joy in our hearts.”

To make the dinner possible, empanadas and soft drinks were donated by people. In this instance, a total of approximately 500 people dined both inside the church and in the outdoor courtyard.

Another location was the Virgen de Caacupé Parish in Barracas. This event was organized by Father Toto de Vedia. The priest explained that “it’s a different kind of Christmas because we also need to provide support to all those suffering from addiction.”

An effort was made to organize a space where anyone needing to celebrate Christmas in company could do so at the Parish. Additionally, an outing to a property belonging to the congregation was arranged for those undergoing addiction recovery treatment to celebrate there.

Similarly, a fundraising dinner was held in the city of Córdoba, specifically in the Alberdi neighborhood. The Alberdi Neighborhood Center and the Alberdi People Network jointly organized a dinner starting at 9:00 PM at the Cervecería Córdoba venue.

On the other hand, Christmas took on a different meaning for workers at the Ledesma sugar mill, who completed almost 50 days of struggle to demand the reinstatement of more than 350 dismissed workers.
