During his address at the first National Congress of Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, and Oncology, the president of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, stated that the United States uses the rhetoric of nuclear security not to prevent the proliferation of weapons, but to obstruct the progress of sovereign nations.
Eslami emphasized that US administrations seek to maintain hegemony based on force by restricting other countries’ access to strategic technologies.

According to Eslami, the Iranian nuclear program has essential civilian applications, especially in nuclear medicine and cancer treatment, sectors affected by sanctions and international pressure. At the end of November, the head of the AEOI reiterated that the program represents an “inexhaustible path of scientific innovation” aimed at Iran’s social prosperity and technological leadership.
He also denounced Western powers for attempting to hinder Iran’s autonomous capabilities, reaffirming the country’s commitment to expanding its strategic nuclear industry and positioning itself at the forefront of global development.
