Since October 2023, over 200 children have been murdered in the West Bank.
On Wednesday, Israeli authorities arrested five suspected settlers who injured an eight-month-old Palestinian baby in the head after an attack in Sair, northeast of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank.

Authorities informed that the Palestinian girl was injured and evacuated for medical attention. The police confirmed that the attackers came from an outpost (an unregulated settlement) and reside in the illegal settlement of Asfar and the new settlement of Jorat al jail.
Settler attacks against Palestinians occur daily in the West Bank, and although arrests are made, most perpetrators have impunity and are released after only a few days of house arrest.
The Israeli NGO Yesh Din reports that between 2005 and 2024, 94% of police investigations into settler violence concluded without charges being filed, and only 3% resulted in full or partial convictions.
The Israeli occupation army has killed over 1,000 Palestinians in the West Bank since October 2023, which includes more than 200 children. According to the United Nations , another 21 minors were murdered by settlers.

On Wednesday, the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination called for sanctions against individuals, groups, or entities that incite the segregation of Palestinians, after confirming several abuses only in 2024.
An ad hoc commission, requested by Palestinian authorities, concluded that settlement expansion, building restrictions, and home demolitions generate systemic discrimination and undermine prospects for peace in the conflict.
The Committee reiterated that Israel must ensure that its policies do not support discriminatory practices in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which reinforces international protection obligations.
The call comes after the escalating violence and displacement in the West Bank. Just in the last two weeks, four Palestinian children were killed; three by Israeli forces and one by settlers.
