World BEYOND War is a global network advocating for the abolition of war. Here are our top 10 victories and highlights of 2025:

#10: We hosted four online courses, with over 400 participants, including a new course on War, Peace, and Law. Plus Peace Education and Action for Impact returned for another iteration, bringing together youth from nine countries.

#9: On February 23, we mobilized a global day of action to close military bases, with 61 actions in 27 countries.

#8: We joined with the No to War – No to NATO network for a counter-summit and mass demonstration against NATO’s summit in The Hague.

#7: World BEYOND War and allies organized a Neutrality Colloquium in Geneva promoting active neutrality in response to increasing militarisation worldwide.

#6: Together with International Peace Bureau, Stop the War Coalition Philippines, and Gensuikyo, we organized the fourth annual Peace Wave, a 24-hour Zoom featuring live peace actions around the world.

#5: Our annual conference took on the theme of abolition, building solidarity between abolitionist movements, with nearly 600 registrants and speakers from 42 countries

#4: This year, World BEYOND War chapters were launched in 12 different countries.

#3: World BEYOND War, with Palestinian Youth Movement, C-JP-ME, and the Arms Embargo Now Coalition published explosive research documenting the continued Canada-Israel arms trade, making national and international headlines. We’re working with Canadian MPs to pass the No More Loopholes Bill to cut off the flow of weapons to Israel. And change is happening, with Lufthansa announcing an embargo on transporting Israel-bound weapons.

#2: After 6 years of campaigning, supported by World BEYOND War and partners in the Divest Philly coalition, the Philadelphia City Council unanimously passed a resolution calling for nuclear weapons divestment

#1: In a national referendum, Ecuador rejected a constitutional amendment which would have allowed foreign military bases. This was the culmination of grassroots organizing across the country, including the launch of a World BEYOND War chapter.
