Phon Pen, Dec 18 (Prensa Latina) Cambodia's National Defense Ministry denounced the intensification of attacks on national territory by Thai military forces.

The source stated that Thai F-16 fighter jets dropped two bombs this morning on the city of Poipet, in Banteay Meanchey province, located in the Kingdom’s Military Region 5.

“The Thai army’s brutal and indiscriminate attacks on Cambodia’s sovereign territory have now entered their 12th consecutive day,” National Defense Ministry Spokesperson Lieutenant General Maly Socheata stated at her usual morning press briefing.

The spokesperson underscored that the aggressors continue to use several kinds of heavy weaponry, which is a grave violation of international law.

Socheata further stressed that Thai forces “have deliberately targeted areas where Cambodian civilians reside, resulting in numerous casualties.”

These irresponsible and illegal actions pose a serious threat not only to regional peace and stability but also to the foundations of the international order, the spokesperson emphasized, as quoted by the AKP news agency.
