In a statement posted on social media, the head of state confirmed that he made the appeal at a “productive debate” with parliamentarians, “prior to the Sixth Ordinary Session” of the Assembly.
“We continue to encourage open, frank, and constant debate, based on revolutionary ethics, to build together the country we dream of,” Diaz-Canel stated.
Last November, the president of the Cuban Parliament, Esteban Lazo, convened the Sixth Ordinary Session of that body, in its Tenth Legislature.
The plenary session’s agenda includes an evaluation of the implementation and impact of the measures in the Government Program to correct distortions and revitalize the economy, and the presentation of the economic objectives for 2026, among other matters.
