Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani warned that Israel’s daily ceasefire violations jeopardize the entire agreement reached for Gaza, during his meeting in Washington with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Within the framework of the seventh Strategic Dialogue between the two nations, Sheikh Mohammed insisted on the urgent transition to the second phase of the agreement, given the worsening humanitarian crisis due to winter storms in the Palestinian enclave.

“The delays and ceasefire violations jeopardize the entire process and put the mediators in a difficult position,” declared the Qatari Prime Minister, whose country has acted as a key mediator in the negotiations. He further stressed that humanitarian aid must reach Gaza “without conditions” and that the immediate implementation of the second phase is essential to halt what he described as “Israel’s genocidal war against the besieged Palestinian enclave.”

Since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10, Israel has violated the agreement at least 738 times, resulting in the deaths of at least 394 Palestinians and injuries to another 1,075.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated dramatically as severe winter storms

OCHA’s spokesperson further explained that logistical operations within the Gaza Strip are suffocated by the limited number of available routes for transporting supplies and the scarcity of operational crossings for aid entry. This combination of external restrictions and internal logistical bottlenecks is preventing life-saving assistance from reaching those most in need.

The agency called for the immediate removal of all bureaucratic and physical impediments, asserting that the international community possesses the technical capacity to mitigate the tragedy but is paralyzed by these restrictions. Humanitarian aid, OCHA reiterated, must reach those who are enduring extreme living conditions amidst the ruins and freezing temperatures

Qatar urged Washington to exert pressure on Israel to allow the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid, vital amid the extreme weather conditions affecting the region.
