On his social network account X Modi thanks Ahmed’s welcome and acknowledged the great history and vibrant culture of the African nation.

“India and Ethiopia share deep bonds of civilization.

I look forward to working with Ethiopian leaders to further strengthen our collaboration in various areas,” the text said.

Images shared on the same digital platform show the Indian head of government participating in a traditional coffee ceremony, showcasing local cultural heritage.

Modi’s two-day agenda in the capital includes talks with his Ethiopian counterpart on investment, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity.

He will also speak tomorrow at a joint session of the House of People’s Representatives (Parliament) and the House of Federation (Upper House), which will mark one of the key commitments of the visit and reflect the growing diplomatic and bilateral ties between the two countries.

The Indian prime minister arrived in Ethiopia from Jordan and will continue his tour in Oman.

The tour highlights the efforts of the South Asian nation to improve partnerships in Africa and the Middle East.
