The Bolivarian leader harshly criticized the anti-immigrant stance of Chile’s president-elect.

On Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced the activation of a special plan for legal and diplomatic support through the “Great Mission Return to the Homeland,” aimed at all Venezuelans who wish to leave Chile following the electoral victory of far-right candidate Jose Antonio Kast.

“To Venezuelans who are in Chile, I humbly tell you to return to your homeland. You can count on us… This is the homeland of opportunities and perpetual happiness,” he said during his television program “Con Maduro+.”

The Bolivarian leader rejected the threats against Venezuelans made by Kast, who promised to expel undocumented migrants and issued them an ultimatum to leave the country before March 11, 2026.

Venezuelans living in Chile “were betrayed and threatened despite being decent people who work, produce and contribute. Many are health professionals and are the best doctors in Chile,” Maduro said.

The Bolivarian leader also said that Venezuelan far-right activists Maria Corina Machado, Leopoldo Lopez and Edmundo Gonzalez have backed Kast’s threats against Venezuelan migrants.

“Don’t you dare touch a hair on the head of any Venezuelan. Venezuelan migrants have rights, and the Chilean Constitution must guarantee them. Whoever messes with Venezuela dries up!,” Maduro said, addressing Chile’s far-right president-elect.

Referring to Kast’s electoral victory, Maduro described Chile’s incoming leader as a “Nazi, raised in a Nazi family, and a convicted and confessed Pinochet supporter.”

Maduro attributed Kast’s rise to the weakening of progressive forces in Chile and said the supposed progressivism of current President Gabriel Boric “was no progressivism at all, because he gave the green light to pave the way for right-wing forces.”

“The setback of progressive movements put a confessed Pinochet supporter and fascist in the La Moneda Palace,” the Venezuelan president said, expressing solidarity with the Chilean people, who face “a great challenge ahead, with a Pinochet supporter in government.”

“They will return to the great avenues… defeating the Nazi-fascism that seeks to impose itself once again,” Maduro said, paraphrasing former Chilean President Salvador Allende, who died during the 1973 coup carried out by Gen. Augusto Pinochet.

Finally, the Venezuelan president reiterated his confidence in the resistance of the Chilean people and in Latin American unity, quoting singer-songwriter Ali Primera: “The day will come when our continent speaks with the voice of a united people.”
