The event, organized in a face-to-face and virtual participation under the theme “Sustaining Gains: Taking Stock of Results in 2025 and Planning for Strategic Impact in 2026,” the event, brought together all ECA staff to assess the achievements of the period and outline a strategic plan for 2026.

The text noted that the discussions highlighted the results achieved in supporting regional integration, economic diversification, industrialization, and social and macroeconomic policies.

They also focused on cross-cutting themes such as technology, connectivity, the importance of women and youth, the relevance of capacity building, climate action, and data and statistics for achieving greater development impact.

Participants also explored ways to deepen the Commission’s focus on finding innovative solutions to Africa’s most pressing challenges and the need for innovation in development finance in a challenging climate.

ECA Executive Secretary Claver Gatete highlighted the organization’s commitment to adapting to emerging trends and seizing opportunities for Africa’s growth.
