Moscow, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will pay a working visit to Russia on December 17 and hold talks with his counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced.

Previously, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei stated that Araghchi will travel to Belarus on December 15 and visit Russia on the 16th and 17th.

Baghhaei specified that the Iranian Foreign Minister will meet with representatives of the State Duma (the lower house of the Russian Parliament) on December 16 and will meet with Lavrov on the 17th.

“On December 17, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, will pay a working visit to Moscow.

Talks are scheduled with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the Russian and Iranian foreign ministers intend to thoroughly discuss current international issues, including the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program, and exchange views on regional issues of mutual interest.

Special attention will be paid to current topics on the traditionally intense bilateral agenda of Russian-Iranian relations, which reached a very different level of comprehensive strategic partnership following the entry into force of the new interstate treaty on October 2, 2025, the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.
