Following the assassination of two key leaders, the Palestinian movement insists only its people have the right to self-determination over Gaza and urges the global community to halt the Israeli occupation.

The Hamas-led Interior Ministry on Monday firmly rejected any foreign tutelage over the Gaza Strip, hours after two of its senior leaders were killed in Israeli bombardments.

The ministry reiterated the Palestinian people’s sole right to self-determination and called for urgent international action against the ongoing occupation.

In an official statement, the Resistance Movement Hamas declared that only palestinian people possess the right to choose their governance, asserting the legitimate right to armed resistance, liberation of occupied land, and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

In this regard, a direct appeal was made to the international community, particularly to Arab nations, to exert pressure on Israel. The objective is to ensure Israel adheres to the parameters of the current ceasefire, reopens all Gaza border crossings, and immediately ceases its attacks against the civilian population.

Hamas Resistance Movement insisted that the Israeli occupation remains the primary cause of violence in the region, asserting that any attempt to impose an external administration over Gaza would fundamentally disregard the sovereignty and self-determination of the Palestinian people.

In this sense, the communiqué argued that a permanent solution requires a complete end to the Zionist occupation and the full recognition of Palestinian rights.

Regional and International Calls to Action

Hamas called upon the international community, and Arab nations in particular, to pressure Israel to adhere to ceasefire terms, reopen Gaza’s border crossings, and halt attacks on civilians.

Hamas specifically demanded the full implementation of agreed provisions within the truce, alongside the immediate opening of border crossings to allow unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid. The movement also called for the rapid execution of relief, housing, and reconstruction plans vital for the population of Gaza.

The rejection of foreign tutelage by Hamas coincides with ongoing international discussions concerning the deployment of a multinational force in the area. This proposed force is reportedly part of the second phase of a ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 10.

However, Hamas has unequivocally warned that any such initiative represents an external imposition, directly violating the Palestinian people’s fundamental right to self-determination and sovereignty over their territory. The Palestinian movement maintains that genuine peace and stability can only be achieved through an end to the Israeli occupation and the full recognition of Palestinian rights. According to the Palestinian resistance, Israeli actions pose a significant threat to regional and international security and stability, necessitating a global response to end the occupation definitively.

The statement concluded by citing Palestinian health authority figures, accusing Tel Aviv’s regime of perpetrating a genocide that has killed over 70,600 people and wounded more than 171,095, labeling the situation an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe enabled by international inaction.
