Havana, Dec 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuba sent congratulations to the people and government of the Republic of Kenya, in commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of its independence.

“We reaffirm our willingness to continue working to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation between our countries,” said the island’s Foreign Ministry on social network X.

Every December 12, Jamhuri Day or national holiday is celebrated in the country to commemorate the day on which the Republic of Kenya was established in 1964.

The independence from the United Kingdom was achieved a year earlier on the same date, so Jamhuri Day has a double celebration and is the most important holiday in the country.
