Earlier this Friday, at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, the collateral awards given by various institutions, civil society organizations, and film critics will also be announced.
With the slogan “Rodando cine,” screenings of this major film event on the Caribbean island will continue until next Sunday.
For this edition, 2,051 works were submitted, of which 114 titles, 30 screenplays, and 30 posters were selected for competition.
During the event, 283 films from 42 countries have been screened.
In addition to the films in competition, they are participating in sections such as Latin America in Perspective, International Panorama, Other Latitudes, Environments, and special presentations.
Dedicated to the centenary of the Festival’s founder and prominent Cuban intellectual Alfredo Guevara, the Festival’s guest of honor was Mexico.
From that country, Honorary Coral Awards were presented to Estudios Churubusco, on its 80th anniversary, and to the renowned actor Gael Garcia Bernal.
