The Kremlin said the Russian leader expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people and reiterated his support for the Bolivarian government’s policy, which is aimed at defending national interests and sovereignty amid increasing external pressure.

The Bolivarian leader emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen progress in air and maritime connectivity between the two countries and noted that Venezuela already has direct routes to Moscow and St. Petersburg.

“Both leaders agreed to deepen and expand these initiatives, recognizing their key role in strengthening economic, tourism and cultural exchanges,” the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said.

President Maduro also highlighted Venezuela’s continued progress toward peace, economic growth and social stability. His country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow by 9% this year, placing the Venezuelan growth at the top of the region.

Putin said he was fully informed of these developments and congratulated the Bolivarian government on the results. He also reiterated that direct channels of communication remain open at all times.

He further assured that Russia will continue supporting Venezuela in its effort to assert its sovereignty, uphold international law and promote peace throughout Latin America, offering its diplomatic capabilities to strengthen cooperation on these essential matters.

Finally, both presidents noted that more than 20 years of firm and fruitful cooperation have passed since Commander Hugo Chavez and Putin initiated a strategic relationship that continues to grow stronger for the benefit of both nations.
