This week, Lufthansa announced an embargo on Israel-bound military and “security” goods. This victory is a testament to the persistence and interconnection of movements worldwide. The first many people heard that commercial passenger planes, while carrying passengers, were also carrying weapons to the genocide in Gaza was when the Arms Embargo Now coalition in Canada, of which World BEYOND War is part, released a report in July that found that:

“Over 100 international flights transported Canadian weapons to Israel, with 64 of these being commercial passenger flights carrying military cargo beneath civilian travelers on routes including Frankfurt, Paris, New York, Abu Dhabi, and New Delhi.”
