The offensive launched by the Royal Thai Navy seeks to “suppress the enemy,” according to the name “Trat Prap Porapak,” in the border province of Trat.

The military institution informed that the Royal Thai Navy assumed, this Wednesday, an expanded operational authority in its sector due to the escalation of hostilities with Cambodia.

The operation includes the warship HTMS Thepa on high alert and a mobilization of fighter jets ready for action.

The Thai Army reported on Tuesday that four soldiers were killed and 68 were wounded in recent clashes with Cambodian forces.

Both nations accuse each other of violating the ceasefire agreed upon in Malaysia on July 28.
