  • I don’t understand time keeping in this game. I watched the end of it at a restaurant with no sound so I am sure that is part of my confusion. However, at the end of 90 minutes they said they were adding 10 minutes of extra time. Fine, I get it. I personally hate that the clock counts up and never stops for exactly this reason, but whatever that’s the way it is.

What I can’t figure out is, if 10 minutes of extra time were added, why did they let the game continue for almost 20 minutes? Is it some extra extra time thing that they don’t advertise anywhere on screen for some reason? How do you know when the game is supposed to end if the numbers on screen aren’t fully accurate?

  • Even if the guillotine took out every billionaire tonight the next lot would pop up and and carry on the same evil work unless we fix the system.

I agree, at least in part, but I still think that would be a great place to start. Rich psychopaths never stop fighting for power and money. The people have to do the same and not be lulled into a false sense of security, thinking that the work is finished. The wolves may be ever at the door but if you hang the last ones pelt on the lintel the next will think twice about entering.

  • While I don’t necessarily disagree with the overall point, especially about the history of national guard deployments, activating the guard is still an important step and different from previous deployments. This not a labor dispute or a typical political protest of the past. People are expecting the state government to do something to protect them from masked men who are murdering them in the streets. The guard is also made up of people from Minnesota. If ever they had an opportunity to step up and do the right thing, this is it.

Also, if the author is correct and the guard will not protect Minnesotans from ICE, then all pretense of law and order will evaporate for a large chunk of society. There is no coming back from that without more violence than America has seen domestically since the Civil War. That may well be where we are already but most will not accept that as truth until at least after the guard has demonstrated that they will side with the federal government. I think the actions of the Minnesota national guard in the coming weeks will determine whether this comes to be known as a ‘state vs federal government’ conflict or a ‘people vs the system as a whole’ conflict.
