The column penned by former Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume was a blunt warning to the Parti Québécois that its virulent attacks on immigrants and minorities could hurt the Quebec indépendentiste cause by exposing the fiction that it has any democratic, let alone, “progressive” content.
